Diabetic Retinopathy
Anyone with diabetes is at risk of developing diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy occurs when the tiny blood vessels in your eyes become damaged by high blood sugar levels over time. In early stages, there may be little or no visual symptoms. An annual dilated eye exam is important to identify problems at the earliest stage possible in order to begin treatment and prevent permanent vision loss.
